Mike Askew Owner - Funeral Director info@askewfs.com

Mike is a native of Washington, NC, where his career in funeral services started in 1980. He moved to Roanoke Rapids in February 1984, after graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science. In 1999, Mike designed and constructed the modern-day facility that was established as Askew Funeral Services. Mike and his wife, Wanda, have one son, Brant. Mike and his family attend Calvary Baptist Church.

Scott Wheeler Funeral Director info@askewfs.com

Scott has been in the funeral industry in North Carolina for over 30 years. He worked for several funeral homes in Rocky Mount and was partial owner of Wheeler and Woodlief Funeral Home, until its sale in 2013. Scott served at Montlawn Funeral Home and Cremations for several years before coming to Askew Funeral Service.

Active in his community Scott is a member of the board for Habitat for Humanity; a member of the morning Optimist Club and Rotary club. Scott has a passion for working youth athletics. Currently serves on the board for the ENC youth football league, as well as the board for the Veterans Day Football Classic Tournament.

Scott has been happily married for twenty-five years to his best friend, MaryMiller. Together they have one son, Hylan.

Outside of work Scott enjoys watching sports and visiting historical places. However his greatest joy is watching his son play sports.

Mike and Scott have been friends for over 20 years and Mike is excited to have Scott with our team.

Tyler Rozier is a native of Halifax County. He is a licensed funeral director in North Carolina and also a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Community College and East Carolina University. Tyler's life verse is: Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth."

Macon Reavis Funeral Service Assistant

Macon has served with us since its opening in December, 1999. He is a native of Warrenton, NC and has spent 40 years as a resident of Roanoke Rapids. Macon and his wife, Grace, have two children. He is a member of East 10th St. Christian Church.

David has served with the company since its opening in December, 1999. He is a native of Alabama and has spent 45 years as a resident of Roanoke Rapids. David and his wife, Sue, have two children. He is a member of First United Methodist Church.

David has served with the company since August, 2000. He is a lifelong Roanoke Rapids resident. David and his wife, Carolyn, have one daughter. He is a member of Rosemary Baptist Church.

Toby has served with the company since 2004. He is a native of Hillsborough, NC and has spent 40 years as a resident of Roanoke Rapids. Toby and his wife, Lois, have two children. He is a member of New Testament Christian Church.

Randy Martin Funeral Service Assistant - Staff Minister

Randy has served with the company since May, 2006. He and his wife Rose are lifelong residents of Roanoke Rapids. Randy is a retired Southern Baptist minister. Randy serves as the staff minister for the funeral home.
