Wayne Edward Whitney, 74, of Conway died Monday February 14, 2022. Wayne was born in Fulton County, New York to the late Donald and Leona Whitney. He was retired from the Textiles industry and he loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Edith Whitney; his daughter, Renee Hollinger and her husband, Eric of Bunea, NJ; five sons, Steevie Allison and his wife, Eve of Conway, David McGaha and his wife, Tammy of Conwy, Thomas Whitney and his wife, Christine of Goldsboro, Tim McGaha and his wife, Tammy of Roanoke Rapids and Benjamin Vanderweel of Georgia; his brother, Billy Whitney and his wife, Eve of Gloversville, NY; grandchildren, Miranda Johnson and her husband, David Christina Everinghan, Robert Everinghan, Neil Allison, Kristen Whitney, Dylan Whitney, James Whitney, David and Jason Mc Gaha , Kyle Glisson, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, with Rev. Matt Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow, in the Creeksville Baptist Church Cemetery in Creeksville, NC. The family will receive friends, from 12:30 until service time at the Funeral Home.
