Mr. Wallace Grizzard Edwards, 89 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020. He was born in Southampton County, Virginia to the late Claude Hinton and Eunice Evelyn Grizzard Edwards and was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Bryant, his son Wallace Wayne Edwards a grandson, James Wallace Bryant and many brothers and sisters. Wallace worked for the Roanoke Rapids, Graded Schools District as a bus driver for many years for the special needs children that he dearly loved. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Frances Spence Edwards; his daughter, Jane Butler and her husband, Frankie of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his son, Ray Edwards and his wife, Kim of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his two sisters, Shirley Powell of Emporia, VA and Lois Gaskins of Dolphin, VA; his four grandchildren, his twelve great-grandchildren and his three great-great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2pm in Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Kobernat and Rev. Andy Sloan officiating.
