W. C. Sledge, 78 of Pinetops, NC passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on January 2, 1943 in Northampton County, North Carolina to the late Lawrence Sledge and Eva Hall Sledge. W. C. is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hawkins Sledge; his daughter, Kim Haywood and her husband, Joe of Tarboro, NC; his sons, Greg Sledge and his wife Sonya of Raleigh, NC and Bill Sledge of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his grandchildren, Jessica Buckner, James Buckner and his wife, Ashley, Andrew Haywood, Aron Haywood and his wife, Jessica, Anna Haywood, Amanda Bridgers and her husband, B.J., Victoria Baer and Jordan Baer; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee Buckner, Brooklynn Buckner, Jamie Buckner, Gracie Bridgers and Colton Haywood; his brother, Clarence Sledge and his two nieces and two nephews. Graveside Services will be held, on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 1pm at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Randy Smith officiating.
