Timothy "Tim" Wayne Mitchell, 61, of Brodnax, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Tim was a native of Roanoke Rapids and was the son of the late Edward Palmer Mitchell, Sr. and Maybell Lee Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Edward "Lucky" Palmer Mitchell, Jr. and William "Bill" Nash Mitchell.

Tim loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his life partner, Julie Gwaltney; daughter, Brooklyn Mitchell; son, Zeb Mitchell and his fiance', Lexus Long; and stepson, Jacob Gwaltney all of Brodnax, Virginia; his brothers, Randy Mitchell and his wife, Kathy and Alan Mitchell and his wife, Susan both of Roanoke Rapids; sister-in-law, Wanda Fowler Mitchell of Chester, Virginia; nieces, Lisa Mitchell, Shamron Mitchell and Jennifer Henderson; nephews, Michael Mitchell, Jonathan Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Victor Mitchell, Tuddy Mitchell, and several great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026 in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.
