Thelma Martin Bridgers, 91 of Hayes, VA passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born in Northampton County, NC in 1929 to the late, Walter Erza Martin and Olivia Allen Martin and was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Lee Bridgers; her son Larry Lee Bridgers; her sisters, Louise Martin, Pearl M. Lanier, Beatrice M. Bridgers; her brothers, Carl Martin and Walter Clyde Martin. She was a graduate of Conway High School and the matriarch of her family. Her family came first and was a loving mother. She loved the Lord and her favorite thing was to read her Bible. Thelma is survived by her daughter, Pamela Louise Poe and her husband, Michael of Hayes, VA; her three grandsons, Jason Newman of Dallas, TX, Adam Irons of Raleigh, NC and Aaron Irons of Newport News, VA; her granddaughter, Michelle Coble of Smithfield, VA; 7 great-grandchildren and her brother, Lawrence Martin of Murfreesboro, NC. Graveside services for Mrs. Bridgers will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 1pm in Milwaukee Cemetery with Rev. Randy Martin Officiating. There will be viewing from 9 am until 11 am on Friday.
