Teddy Lee "Ted" Presley, 76, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Duke Medical Center.
A native of Pocahontas, Virginia, Ted served in US Navy for four years at which time he was assigned to a ship monitoring the Cuban Crisis. Following his naval service, Mr. Presley worked for National Coil in Bluefield, West Virginia. His career then took him to Union County in North Carolina where he eventually joined the staff of General Electric in Charlotte. He worked as a Production Planner for motor and turbine repair. Besides his devotion to the Carolina Panthers, his love of fishing carried him from Canada to the coast, from rivers to lakes. He was always waiting for the next "big one".
Mr. Presley was preceded in death by his parents, Metta and Harold Presley, and a brother, Ray Presley (Diane).
Ted is survived by his wife, Linda Presley; daughters, Amy Pendleton (Steve), Robin Presley, and Lisa Presley; step-daughters, Jennifer Mayle (Eric), and Alycia Mayle; grandchildren, Tyler Mayle, Alyssa Pendleton, and Brody Mayle. He is also survived by a brother Denny Presley (Frances).
A private memorial service will be held in West Virginia at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Audio-Visual Fund at the Halifax United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 365, Halifax, NC 27839 OR Immanuel Baptist Church, 1000 New Hope Road, Princeton, WV 24740.
