Shirley Ann Wade Britt 85, of Jackson died Saturday January 1, 2022. She was a native of Northampton County and was the daughter of the late John Wilbur and Gracie Barnes Wade. She was also preceded in death by her brother. John Douglas Wade. She was a member of Jackson Baptist Church and was the Sunday School Secretary and helped run the nursery for several years. She loved sewing and was a great seamstress for the community for many years. Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Jack Britt; her daughters, Terry Hux and her husband, Monty of Jackson and Rhonda Harrup and her husband, Brian of Capron, Va.; her sister, Dorothy Jones and her husband, Robert of Jackson; four grandchildren, Tyler Hux, Courtney Hux, Braxton Harrup, Lindsey Harrup Adkins and her husband, Alex. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at 2pm in the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson with Rev. Warren Heitzenrater officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7-8:30 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services Jackson-Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
