IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sarah Cooper
Wheeler
June 27, 1933 – November 27, 2025
Sarah Cooper Wheeler, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a pillar of faith within her community, completed her earthly journey on November 27, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on June 27, 1933 in Bracy, Virginia to Robert E. Hatchel and Sallie Tanner Hatchel, Sarah lived a life characterized by love, devotion, and service to those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Herman "Dick" Cooper, her second husband Wilson Wheeler, her brother Robert Hatchel, and her sisters Eva Royal, Eliza Sadler, Ada Evans, and Sallie Griffies.
Sarah's legacy continues through her beloved daughter, Sandy Anderson and her husband, Greg, of Daytona Beach, Florida; her son, Cletis Cooper and his wife, Neda, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; her adored grandchildren, Seth Cooper and Emily French; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Aslynn, Haven, and Hudson. Sarah's love for her family was a beacon of warmth and her guidance a steady compass that will continue to lead them through life.
Professionally, Sarah dedicated many years to the Bibb Company (J.P. Stevens), where she retired after a fulfilling career.
As we say farewell to Sarah Cooper Wheeler, we celebrate a life that was filled with faith, hope, and the kind of enduring love that leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched. Her stories, her laughter, and her wise counsel will be fondly remembered and deeply missed. Sarah, a true servant of God, now rests peacefully in His eternal embrace, leaving us with the assurance that her spirit will forever watch over us, just as it always has.
