Ronald Ray "Ronnie" Wood, 75 of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

He was a native of Halifax County and was the son of the late Herman Hillard Wood, Sr. and Claudia Mae Newsome Wood. He was also preceded by his sister, Hazel Well and brothers, Raymond Wood and Herman Hillard Wood, Jr.  Ronald loved his family, his farm and cows. He worked on the Windy Acres produce for over 30 years and was retired from Patch Rubber.  He was also a member of Enterprise Baptist Church.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Bonnie Sue Hobbs Wood; his daughters, Melissa Wood Dunlow and her husband, John Dunlow of Oxford and Rhonda Wood Manning and her husband, Craig of Gaston; grandchildren, John M. Dunlow, II and his wife, Jenna, Stephen Dunlow, Conner Dunlow and Gabrielle Dunlow; his sisters, Edna Council, Claudia Mae Neal, and her husband, Gene, Addie Simone and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will have a private graveside service at the Wood family cemetery on his farm.
