Obituary

Rodney Allen Edwards, 85 of Conway, NC passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home. He was born in Northampton County in March 18, 1935 to the late Willie James and Lottie Boone Edwards and was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Watts; two brothers, Willie James "W.J." Edwards, Jr. and Junius C. Edwards. Mr. Edwards retired from Union Camp Paper Company, after retirement he started his Timber Consulting Business and loved working with both companies. He was a faithful and life long member of Galatia Baptist Church. In his earlier years he taught the Boys Sunday School Class; was a 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years with the Seaboard Masonic Lodge # 378. He was a member of the Northampton County Forestry Association. Rodney dearly loved his family put everyone else before himself and loved his work. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jackie; daughters, Caroline Edwards Davis and husband, Michael A. Davis of Seaboard, NC, Kim Edwards Warren and her husband, Mike of Pleasant Hill, NC and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 2pm in the Conway Cemetery in Conway, NC with Rev. Jimmy Blythe, Rev. Jim Cox and Rev. Matthew Dupuy officiating with full Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at the Galatia Baptist Church fellowship hall.
