Robert Curtis Hasty, Jr., 67, of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on August 29, 2025. He was born in Halifax County to the late Robert Curtis Hasty, Sr. and Pauline Rose Hasty and was preceded in death by his grandson, Christopher Blake Hasty and his nephew Ryan Morris.

Robert is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth Calemine Hasty; his children, Christopher Brian Hasty and his wife, Jordan, Philip Hasty and Mary Elizabeth Hasty, all of Roanoke Rapids; his sister, Sylvia Hasty Morris of Rocky Mount; his grandchildren, Bayan Alam, Chase Hasty, Allie Hasty, Reid Hasty, Wyatt Hasty and MacKenzie Hasty; his sisters in law, Catherine Calemine Gray of Greenville and Nina Calemine of Ahoskie; and his brother-in-law, Allen Mitchell of Merry Hill.

He was member of Roanoke Baptist Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman, avid reader of history and loved to talk to anyone he met. He enjoyed any buffet, but especially the seafood buffet at Ralph's on Friday nights. Robert enjoyed his trips to the river and the lake and his dogs. He was a member of many hunting clubs, Faison's Hunting Club, Blacktop Hunting Club and Shearin Hunting Club. Robert was a jokester and prankster and loved to make people laugh and will be missed by so many.

Funeral services to commemorate Robert's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
