Phillip Stanley Taylor, 78, of Gaston, NC, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

He was a native of Halifax County and was the son of the late Albert Lee Taylor and Doma Lee Mosley.

Stanley was an outstanding father, grandfather, and was a extraordinary hunter.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Emma Draper Taylor; his daughter, Emma "Jeanie" Pope of Roanoke Rapids and his son, Glenn Taylor and his fiancé', Melissa Strum of White Plains, Virginia; his three grandchildren, Stephanie Pope, Brandon Pope, Jarrett Taylor; and one great-grandchild, Sklyar Pope; and his faithful canine companion, "Sissy".

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Roger Wright officiating,

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids and request that friends and family wear camo or green clothing in honor of Stanley's love for the outdoors and hunting.
