Peggy Harrell Williams, our beloved mother, passed away on March 5, 2025 at the age of 83 in Nashville, NC. She leaves behind a long line of love and laughter and will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She was born on January 14, 1942 in Halifax County to the late William Lee and Sarah Britton Harrell. Her husband, James Williams and her two sisters, Betty H. Watts and Eunie H. Perkinson were waiting for her at the gates of heaven.
Peggy was a nurse for over 40 years. She nursed in hospitals, nursing homes, country doctors' offices, and lastly, the Rural Health Center, where she made many lifelong friends and wonderful memories.
Left to treasure her memory are her daughter, Debra R. Vester (Lee) of Cedar Point; her son, Robert E. Rivenbark of Sharpsburg; 2 step-children, Steve Williams and Michael Williams (Sharon) of Oxford; 3 grandchildren, Jayson Vester (Ashlea), Joshua D. Vester (Amber), and Zachary H. Rivenbark; 2 step grandchildren, Megan Bizzell (Adam) and Carson Taylor (John); 2 great grandchildren, Avery P. Vester and Jude E. Vester.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. They called her Granny and she loved every minute of it.
She was a dog person and loved many over the years. She named her last baby "Bebop". She was a member of the family and often came to visit Peggy at Autumn Care. Thanks to her adopted family, Cheryl and Red.
A memorial service to honor her life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church, 1405 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
A special thank you to the staff at Autumn Care of Nashville, NC for taking such good care of Peggy and to John House; she lived a happy life because of you. She will always be in our hearts.
