Woodland- Nellie Mae Butler Lane, 83, died Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie. Nellie was born in Northampton County, NC, May 13, 1937, daughter to the late MacLynn and Emma Butler. In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Lane and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are her children, Wanda Moberly of Midway, KY and her son, Barry Lane of Potecasi, NC; grandson, Travis Miller; sister, Bobbie Rose of Roanoke Rapids; her close friends, who were like family, Patricia Morring, Patricia Rodriguez and Darlene Yarbrough. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren. The family will have a service to remember Nellie's life Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Askew Funeral Service- Jackson Chapel in Jackson, NC.
