Obituary

Nancy Garner Robertson passed away on January 11, 2025, with her boys by her side. She was born on June 17, 1940, in Weldon, NC, to the late James Clifton Garner and Mittie Howard Garner and was the widow of Carroll Bracey Robertson, Jr.

A lifelong resident of North Carolina, Nancy graduated from East Carolina Teachers College, where she developed a passion for learning and education. Her professional journey led her to the NC Department of Revenue, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring.

Nancy was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing with many groups over the years. She was also a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Bracey Robertson and Jim Robertson; her cherished grandchildren, Garner Robertson, Anna Beth Robertson, Will Robertson, Kathryn Robertson, Davis Robertson, and Libby Robertson; and her brother, Jimmy Garner. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Robertson, and her sister-in-law, Sandra Garner.

Nancy's life was a testament to the values of kindness, perseverance, and devotion. Those who had the privilege of knowing her will forever remember her generous spirit and unwavering love. Her legacy lives on through the family she held dear and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Jim Jones officiating. A private burial will take place at Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, NC. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, January 15, 2025, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Nancy's service will be live-streamed on her obituary page at www.TwifordFH.com.
