Myra Jessup Robertson, 77, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born December 9, 1947 to William Walter (Bill) and Hazel Jessup, Myra grew up on a small farm near Woodland, NC.

Myra graduated from Northampton County High School East. Following graduation from East Carolina University with a degree in Nursing, Myra joined her husband, Bernard Robertson in Baumholder, Germany where he was serving in the Army. They spent two years in Germany before making their home in Roanoke Rapids where they lived for more than 45 years. Myra worked as a nurse at the former Roanoke Rapids Hospital and taught nursing at Halifax Community College where she was Department Head of Nursing for 28 years.

Survivors include her husband, Bernard Peebles Robertson of the home; a son, Henry Robertson and wife, Natalie of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a daughter, Rebecca Williams and husband, Anthony of Elm City, NC; grandchildren, Jeremy Robertson, Ella Grace Robertson, Marshall Williams and Caroline Williams; her sister, Susan Vinson-Greene of Wilmington, NC; her brother, William Walter Jessup, Jr., and wife, Nancy of Fountain, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother, Hazel Valentine Jessup, her father, William Walter Jessup and infant son, Brad Robertson.

Myra loved traveling with Bernard; they took over 30 cruises together. She also enjoyed spending time at their little get away at Kill Devil Hills, NC. She liked to bake, read, crochet, and serve her church in various roles. She treasured having her children and grandchildren gathered around for a meal or any special occasion.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Rosemary Baptist Church, where she was an active member, with the service immediately following, officiated by Dr. Lane Wallace, with burial to follow at Cedarwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rosemary Baptist Church or the Myra Robertson Scholarship for Nursing Students at Halifax Community College.
