Michael Stanley Smith 77, of Roanoke Rapids died Sunday, October 24, 2021. He was born in Nash County on October 2, 1944 to the late Henry Leighton and Maizy Downing Smith. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leighton Smith. Michael was a CPA for 49 years practicing the most of those years in Roanoke Rapids. He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and he also loved his golden doodle Charlie and his two cats. He is survived by his wife, Pam Smith; sons, Michael Smith, Jr and his wife Jessica of Wimauma, Florida and Bryan Smith of Rollinsville, Col; step daughters, Amy Hilliard of Apex and Julie Aston and her husband, Andy of Conway; his brother, Marvin Smith of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Jonathan Smith and his wife, Christina, Jessica Prescott and her husband, Cameron and Brittany Smith; step grandchildren, Tyler Hilliard, Conner Hilliard, Nathan Aston, Ava Aston and great grandson David Smith. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2 pm in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.
