Michael Thomas Shelby of Roanoke Rapids, NC, passed away at the age of 61 on Thursday, December 26 ^th , 2024, in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Born in Roanoke Rapids, he was the son of the late C.E. Shelby, Jr. and Mary. M. Shelby. He was a 1981 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School and worked as a security technician with Secure Connections in Roanoke Rapids.

He is survived by his mother, Mary M. Shelby of Roanoke Rapids; two brothers, C.E. Shelby, III and his wife, Susan Sigmon of Pittsboro, NC and Samuel D. Shelby of Roanoke Rapids; his sister, Virginia S. Phipps and her husband, Daniel R. Phipps of Roanoke Rapids; two nieces, Rachel S. Ogonowski and her husband, Bill and their daughter, Ruby of Durham, NC, Hannah S. Amodei and her husband, Nick of Asheville, NC and their mother, Cynthia M. Shelby of Pittsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Michael to the organization of your choice.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church in Roanoke Rapids with Lay Pastor, Wallace Spragins officiating. visitation will follow the service in the Loy Building of the church.

Interment will be at Nutbush Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Townsville, NC.
