Mary Elizabeth Comas, Age 87 of Murfreesboro, NC passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC. Mary was born in Northampton County, NC on October 22, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Claude Smith and the late Evelyn Wheeler Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Comas and sisters, Helen Long and Patricia Mathews. Mary was a member of Meherrin Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, NC. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her sons, Ron (Pattie) Powers of Barnesville, GA and Ken (Kim) Powers of Asheville, NC; her grandchildren Dr. Megan (Jef) Flournoy of Macon, GA, Anna (James) Poe of St. Simons Island, GA, Patrick Powers of Barnesville, GA Karly Powers and Hayden Powers of Asheville, NC.
