Marilyn Jane Jenkins Plyler, 77 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. She was born in Halifax County to the late, Elmo and Frances Newsome Jenkins and was preceded in death by her first husband, Sonny Plyler and her second husband, Harvey Vaughan and her brother, Howard Jenkins. Marilyn worked for New Dixie for 30 years and she loved plants and flowers. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Askew of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her son, Tim Plyler and his wife, Kay of Henrico, NC and her daughter, Marsha Watts and her husband, Tommy of Roanoke Rapids, NC; her grandchildren, Amanda Draper, Ashley Clemmons, Brittney Renee Dortch, Jessica Renee Mathis, John Cox, and Crystal Pritchard; her great-grandchildren, Chaseten Martin, Caiden Baird, Cambren Baird, Cassalyn Baird Bently Umphlett, Linda Marye' Dortch, Sierra Le'Ann Dortch, Lily Mae Dortch, Lilly Pritchard, Kanen Pritchard and Banks Pritchard; and her brothers, Billy Ray Jenkins and J. R. Jenkins. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 1pm at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev. Matthew Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the church from 12 noon until service time.
