Margaret "Peggy" Kimrey Turner, 98 of Wilson, North Carolina, formerly of Weldon, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024.
Born on March 9, 1926 in Sanford, North Carolina, Peggy graduated from Queens College in Charlotte, North Carolina as a certified Laboratory Technician. Shortly thereafter she married Kelly Turner and moved to Durham, North Carolina. In 1950, they moved to Weldon, North Carolina and opened Weldon Drug Company which they ran for fifty years. She was also a long-time faithful member of Weldon United Methodist Church. She moved to The Landing in Wilson, North Carolina ten years after the death of her husband to be near her children. Later she moved to Parkwood Village in Wilson.
Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Joe Turner and his wife, Nancy of Wilson; Cindy Bowman and her husband, Jack of Staunton, Virginia; Emmy Isbell and her husband Jim of Wilson; and Ginny Baysden and her husband, Ken of Newport, North Carolina; her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The epitome of a Southern lady, she faced every challenge with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by her side. Thanks are extended to the staff and residents of The Landing and Parkwood Village who were like a family to her.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Sue Owens officiating at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
