Margaret Viola Wrenn Giordano, 83, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026.

She was born in Emporia, VA to the late Robert Lee Wrenn and Helen D. Wrenn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tony Giordano, brother, Dwight Wrenn, step-brother, Andrew Wrenn, and brother-in-law, Doug Rinker.

Margaret was a faithful member of Independence Methodist Church and also the Emporia Chapter of the Eastern Star until her failing health kept her from attending.

She is survived by her daughter, Emily Spence and her husband, Tony; her son, Joel Dickens and his wife, Patti, both of Roanoke Rapids; a step-son, Bruce Giordano and his wife, Karen of Maryland; sisters, Joyce Mercer and her husband, Buddy of Henderson, NC, Gwen Rinker of Emporia, VA.; step-sister, Mary Emma Gay of Emporia, VA; step-brother, Bobby Wrenn of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Stephanie D. Blackman and her husband, Jason, Brittany Dickens, Tiffany Black and Casey, Ashley Crespo, Justin Spence and his wife, Ashley and Michelle Mercer and her husband, Johnny; great-grandchildren, Jayden McMannus, Zoe Black, Ava Black, Ariana Crespo, Ivanchy Crespo, Jr., Ameilia Spence, and Braylen Lassiter; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Josh Barnes, Jenny Matthews and her godchildren, Tracy Powell and Jason Owens.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Minister Jason Yeatts officiating.

Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
