Louise Rightmyer Shipley, 88 of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. passed away on Wednesday May 9th, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Halifax County, N.C. she was the daughter of the late Frank Martin Rightmyer, Sr. and Mattie Louise Threewitts Rightmyer. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Lyman Charles Shipley, Sr.; her brothers, Frank Rightmyer, Jr., George "Buck" Rightmyer; William "Bill" Rightmyer; and her sister, Lois Medlin.

Louise was a kind and loving mother and grandmother, who dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed the beach and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Louise was an avid collector and a supportive friend.

Louise is survived by her sister, Margaret R Carter, her children, Linda Martin and her husband, Brady and Lyman "Chuck" Shipley, Jr.; grandchildren, who include Crystal Harrelson, Lyman "Chad" Shipley, III, Jesse Martin and his wife, Jennifer, and Taylor Shipley; and great-grandchildren Colton Harrelson, Cadence Harrelson, Ella Martin, and Aiden Martin.

Graveside Services will be held Friday May 12th at 1:00pm at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon with Rev. Chris Snead will be officiating.
