Linwood "Peter" Burgess, 86 of Conway, NC passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. He was born in Conway, NC on May 21, 1935 to the late Currie W. Burgess and Lucy Britt Burgess and was preceded in death by his son, Michael "Kevin" Burgess. "Peter" is survived by his wife, Ann Vaughan Burgess of the home; his son, Currie Lynn Burgess of Henrico, NC; his daughter, Nancy B. Harrell of Edenton, NC; his grandsons, Bradford Lee Harrell of Edenton, NC and Samuel Burgess of Henrico, NC and his great-grandchildren, Brayden Harrell, Eli Harrell and Ethan Harell of Edenton, NC; his brother, Connie Burgess, Conway, NC and his sister, Janice Hall of Rich Square, NC; his very special friend, Jennifer Benton and his friend whom he farmed with for many years and was like a son, Billy Futrell. Funeral Services will be held at Creeksville, Baptist Church at 2pm on Saturday, April 9, 2022 with Pastor Matt Ledbetter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 7pm until 8:30pm at Askew Funeral Service-Jackson Chapel in Jackson, NC.
