Linda Carawan Merritt, 76, of Winterville, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024. She was a native of Roanoke Rapids and the daughter of the late Harold Edward and Aleane Myrick Carawan.

She is survived by her two sons, Matthew Merritt and Jeffrey Merritt, both of Winterville; her sister Trudy Carawan Duke and her husband Bill of Roanoke Rapids; and niece Jennifer Duke Thompson and her husband Carl of Apex.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Roanoke Rapids High School. She worked with her mother and father at Harold's Carpet Shop and then at White Motors for many years before retiring. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Matthew and Jeffrey.

The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM, on Saturday, January 4, 2025. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Tim Myrick officiating.
