Lillian Gay Davis, 90, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023. She was born on August 27, 1933 in Northampton County, NC to the late Willie and Rhoda Gay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Mack Davis and a sister, Elizabeth Gay DeBerry.

Lillian was a member of Galatia Baptist Church in Seaboard and worked with the Northampton County School system for 20 years. She was a faithful member of the Eastern Emera Chapter #119 for over 50 years and she attended meetings until her heath declined.

She is survived by her children, Joey Layne Davis (Lisa Carlisle) of the home and her daughter, Joanie Davis Creech (Phillip Creech) of Seaboard; her grandchildren, Joanna Rose Davis (Andrew Bain) of Clayton, Heather Jo Creech (Willie Jones, Jr.) of Charlotte; her great grandchildren, Josie Rose Davis, Joey Mack James Parker of Clayton and Braelyn Karter Jones of Charlotte; her sister, Jessie Berwager of Independence, Kansas; her sister-in-law, Jackie Davis Kennedy (Ralph Kennedy) of Wilson and many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved.

The family would like thank the staff of Liberty Commons in Weldon for all the care given to their loved one.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Justin Temple officiating at the Davis family cemetery on Hwy 158, Conway, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services at 731 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids.
