Lillian Hedgepeth Ball, 93, died on Saturday February 11, 2023.

She was born in Halifax County to the late Isaac Levi Hedgepeth and Dora Warren Hedgepeth. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Wadsworth Ball; her sisters, Bealuah H. Dickens, Dorothy H. Matthews, Lois H. Hux; her brothers, Lathan, Roger, Ray, John and Rupert Hedgepeth.

Lillian enjoyed traveling late in life with her sister-in-law, Peggy Lee Hedgepeth.

Surviving are her children, Deborah Ann Ball Williams and her husband, Dale of New Bern, NC, Susan Ball Madden of Stevensville, MD, Cynthia Ball Cole and her husband, Greg of New Bern, NC; her sons, Craig Alan Ball and his wife, Elizabeth of Elizabethtown, PA and Chris Anthony Ball and his wife, Jody of Gambrills, MD; eleven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; her sister, Peggy Bishop and her husband, Ed of Bahama, NC and her brother, Mike Hedgepeth and his wife, Starlette of Halifax, NC and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 18, 2023 at 11:30 am in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Dave Venturini officiating.

Interment will follow in the Community Center Baptist Cemetery in the Darlington Community.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 until service time at the Funeral Home.
