Kelly Mac Davis, 96, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Reba Barnes Davis, just a few days shy of 74 years married; his parents, Hillory and Ophelia Davis; his brothers and sisters, Raby, Hilda, Myrtle, Charles, Johnny and Verdell and an infant son, Kelly Glen Davis born in October 1953 and a son-in-law, Jeff Taylor.

He is survived by his children, Mike and Donna Davis, Peggy D. Taylor, Dennis and Mary Davis; grandchildren, Bruce and Susan Lynn Davis, Liza Davis and Joel Tyson, Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor, Michael and Ellen Davis, Samantha Taylor, Hillary and Tommy Crowder; great-grandchildren, Kenleigh and Gavin Tyson, Will and Aiden Taylor, Julia Davis, Aubrey and Henry Crowder.

Kelly was born in Faison Old Tavern on November 30, 1928. He only completed school to the 7th grade. He met his wife, Reba while she was working at Legget/Belk in Roanoke Rapids through his sister, Myrtle Draper. They were married on October 6, 1950. He was an active and faithful member of Galatia Baptist Church all of his life. He faithfully served as a Deacon and in the Brotherhood. He started his working career in Saw Mill-Knox Britton, Galatia, NC, Cotton Mill, Roanoke Rapids, NC and Hill Enterprise, Murfreesboro, NC. Then in 1964 he started working for himself, Kelly M. Davis Enterprise, INC. He and his family built numerous houses along Northeastern, NC and Southeastern, VA. In 1958 he started raising, showing and harness racing standard breed ponies. The last horse raised/broken to harness racing – "Kic-Kat" lived to be 42 years old. "Kic-Kat" just recently passed away in April 2025 and her Sire was a descendant of Sir Archie, which was raised in Jackson, NC. The Davis family always took the third week in July for a family vacation for over 50 years to Lasley's Beach, White Lake, NC. The family has been going to White Lake for over 70 years.

The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral Services – Jackson Chapel on Sunday, June 15, 2025 from 5:30 until 7:00 PM.

Funeral services will be held at Galatia Baptist Church on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM with Rev. David Foster and Darrel Davis officiating.

Interment will follow at Conway Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Davis, Kelly Taylor, Michael Davis, Quin Jenkins, Ritchie Draper, and Joe Davis.

The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the caregivers that helped with Pa in the last few months, Wanda Davis, Taneka "Michelle" Moore, MoNasia "Mo" Moore and Bria Lashley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Galatia Baptist Church Brotherhood or Conway Volunteer Fire Department.
