ROCKY MOUNT — Jon Allen Haigler, Jr. (“Jay”), of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026. He was the son of the late Glenyce Merritt Haigler of Roanoke Rapids and Jon Allen Haigler, Sr. of Lenoir, NC and the grandson of the late Beulah Cross Merritt and William Dallas Merritt of Roanoke Rapids.

Jay was a member of First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids. He had also been in the automotive and finance industries throughout his life.

Jay is survived by his son, Houston Merritt Haigler of Rocky Mount; his brother, Dallas Brandon Haigler of St. Pete Beach, FL; and his special cousins, Kim Amerson and her husband, Bill, of Roanoke Rapids, Christina Cross of Chicago, IL and Gavin Woodruff and his wife, Melissa of Weldon; and many other family and special friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 31, 2026 followed by a 2:00 PM service at First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids officiated by Minister Bane Angles. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.
