John Howell Parker, Jr., 76, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2024.

He was a native of Northampton County and was the son of the late John Howell Parker and Ruth Conner "Connie" Whitehead Parker. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, William J. Beale, III and his long-time loving companion, Linda Kay Varsho Coggins.

John was a graduate of NC State and was an avid Wolf Pack fan. He loved his dogs, hunting, playing golf and his regular meetings at Starbucks with his friends.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Parker Beale of Jackson; his nieces, Elizabeth B. Coggins and her husband, Jeffrey and Jo Anne B. Futrell and her husband, Donald W. Futrell, Jr.,  both of Pendleton; his great-nieces and nephews, Kate Coggins and Anna Lee Futrell, William Coggins and Cullen Futrell.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating.
