Jewel Martin Britt of Milwaukee, NC, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026 at the age of 93. Born on July 17, 1933, she was was the seventh of eight children of the late Bealie Jesse Martin, Sr. and Madie Allen Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Albert Britt; siblings, Cleo Martin White, Bealie Jesse Martin, Jr., Janet Martin Hill, Bruce Martin, Stanley Martin, Maudie Leigh Martin McClain and Bobby Martin; daughter-in-law, Anita F. Warrick and son-in-law, Fred M. Stancell.
Jewel led life defined by her profound Christian faith and an unwavering love for her Lord. To those who knew her, she was a living testament to the fruits of the spirit-kindness, patience, and a servant's heart. She didn't just speak of her faith, she lived it daily, finding strength in prayer and joy in the scriptures. Her parents named her Jewel and she really was a Jewel.
She is survived by her three children, Robbie W. Bridgers and her husband, Steve, Bobby Warrick, and Jennifer Stancell; grandchildren, Jessica W. Taylor (Mason), Joshua Bridgers, Trevor Warrick, and Corrie B. Harrison (Bill); great grandchildren, Jules and Winfield Taylor and Reid Harrison; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
The past few months were spent at Bryan Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotland Neck where she received excellent care and made numerous friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Bryan Health and Rehabilitation Center, PO Box 405, Scotland Neck, NC, 27874 to further fund the activities she enjoyed while there.
On Thursday, August 27, 2026, there will be a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at Milwaukee Bethany Methodist Church. A funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Carol Taylor. Burial will take place immediately afterwards at the Milwaukee Cemetery.
