Janie Aline Stokes Rooker, 83, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Janie was a native of Raeford, NC and was the daughter of the late Glenn Stokes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Rooker, Sr.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, bowling, and dancing at the Chattahoochee with her husband. She ran the Aline Rooker figure salon in Roanoke Rapids for a number of years. Aline enjoyed cooking pies for her family, looking at her flowers, and sitting on her front porch watching the kids walking to Belmont Elementary School, often getting a wave from them. She was also a brown belt in karate.

She is survived by her three sons, Larry Wayne Rooker, Jr. and his wife, Lynn, Howard Rooker and his wife, Chris, and Russell Rooker and his wife, Julie; sister, Annie Ruth; her six grandchildren, Kaitlyn Rooker Smith and her husband, Kevin, Jacob Rooker and his wife, Morgan Elizabeth, Justin Rooker, Candace Rooker and fiance, Kyle, Cory Rooker and his wife, Vani, Melissa Rooker; four great grandchildren, Kevin Ayden Smith, Crew Jacob Rooker, Rylee Elizabeth Rooker and Nora Rooker

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2026 at locally owned and operated Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
