James L. Scott, 100 of Garysburg, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Vidant North Hospital in Roanoke Rapids. He was born in Martin County on January 21, 1921 to the late, Joe John Scott Sr. and Betsey Ann Reason Scott and was preceded in death by his step-mother, Clemon Ann Scott; his son, James Lawrence Scott; his granddaughter, Bethanie Lawrence Rowland; his siblings, Jordan Scott, Vernon Scott, Margie Butler, Lillie Mae Morris, Jo John Scott, Jr., Dora Dee Leicester, Barbara Ann Scott, and Cindy Marie Scott. Left to cherish his memories, is his granddaughter, Carolyn Rosa Lee Davis of Macclesfield, North Carolina; one step granddaughter, Lavonne Jordan; his five great grandchildren, his 4 great-great grandchildren, and one step granddaughter, Maggie Jordan; his brother, Clyde Scott of Lewiston, North Carolina, sister, Annie Powell of Eure, North Carolina and his brother, George Scott of Virginia. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 1pm at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Garysburg, North Carolina with Rev. Doug Spivey officiating.
