Obituary

James Robert Johnston Jr. passed away on Tuesday February 6,2024 after a long illness. He was born in Philadelphia on October 29,1950. He was predeceased by his parents James Robert Johnston Sr. and June (Lamb) Johnston and his father-in-law John (Jack) Rigney. Jim graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1969. Jim worked as a sheet metal worker and fabricator shortly after graduation. Jim was a 52-year member of Local 420 Steamfitters and Pipefitters and retired in 2008.

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his wife bowhunting and competing in archery tournaments including the Pennsylvania indoor and outdoor Keystone Games. He spent many hours with friends perfecting his archery skills at Clayton's Hunting and Fishing in Horsham Pa. He also was a competitive marksman.

After retiring he relocated to Littleton and in 2018, he received his General Ham Radio license. That began 6 years of connections with people all over the world. As a member of the YL system he forged everlasting friendships.

Jim also loved his fur babies and his birdies.
