Jackie "Jack" Roosevelt Britt, 85, of Jackson passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 with his family by his side.

Jack was a native of Sumter, SC and was the son of the late Paul and Cindy Britt. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Wade Britt, his brothers, Earnest Britt, Happy Britt and his wife, Pearl and his sister, Daisy Joyner. He was retired from Odom Prison in Jackson. Jack was a member of Jackson Baptist Church where he was a former deacon. He was an avid fisherman, loved to play and coach softball and was a great cook and story teller.

Surviving are his daughters, Terry Hux and her husband, Monty of Jackson and Rhonda Harrup and her husband, Brian of Capron, Va.; four grandchildren, Tyler Hux, Courtney Hux, Braxton Harrup and his wife, Kelby, Lindsey Harrup Adkins and her husband, Alex; great grandson, Carter Adkins; his brothers, Louie Britt and his wife, Becky of Georgetown, SC and Robert Britt and his wife, Jeanette of Nesmith, SC; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones and her husband, Robert of Jackson and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson with Rev. Billy Howell officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 PM on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, Jackson-Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
