Hoyt McDowell Hux, 90, of Sims died Saturday March 5, 2022. He was a native of Halifax County and was the son of the late Bernard Edward and Joseph "Joe' Williams Hux and was also preceded in death by his brother, J.B. Hux. He grew up on the family farm and loved farming. He also loved being in Church, and was a former Deacon at Community Center Baptist Church in Darlington, his home Church. His favorite past time was rocking on the porch and drinking Pepsi cola's. He is survived by his sister, Miriam Trouslot, his niece, Beth Warren both of Sims and two great nieces, Ashley and Leah Warren. Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 10, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Craig Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Community Center Baptist Church Cemetery in Darlington. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time at the Funeral Home.
