Hazel Dickens Hasty, 92, was born on December 8, 1932, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 24, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Augustus Dickens and Sue Vaughan Dickens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Everette Hasty, seven sisters and six brothers.

She is survived by her sons, Keith Hasty and his wife, Kaye of Gaston and Neal Hasty of Venice, California; her grandsons, Eddie Hasty and his wife, Meagan of Red Oak and Paul Hasty and his wife, Becky of Wake Forest; her five great grandchildren, Evan, Hannah, Allie, Annie and Maggie; her sister-in-law, Millie Beal Dickens and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:30-8:00 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids and other times at Keith and Kaye's home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin officiating.

Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.

The family would like to say a special thank you to her caregivers, Tamika Somerville, Georgia Garner, Wanda Maitland and Lee Ann Brame and also all the staff at Nash UNC Healthcare, Bryant T. Aldridge Rehabilitation Center and the staff at Liberty Commons in Weldon, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids, or the Dementia society of America.
