Gordon George Disney, aged 78, passed away on October 10, 2024, in Conway, NC.

Born on January 2, 1946, Gordon devoted 36 years of his career to General Electric Nuclear in Castle Hayne, NC. He also proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and resilience.

Gordon was a man of many interests, particularly passionate about tinkering on anything with four wheels; a love he shared with his son and grandson. His collection of hobbies included model trains, guitars, CB radios, erector sets, and watches, reflecting his diverse interests and insatiable curiosity. Gordon was an avid landscaper and horticulturist as evident by the photo-worthy plants, flowers, and shrubs adorning his residence in Wilmington.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carey (Adam) Brown of Wilmington; son and daughter-in-law, Scott (Jenny) Disney of Conway; grandchildren, Ivy and Camden Disney; brother and sister-in-law, Rob (Diana) Disney-Coker of Mars Hill; and the mother of his three children, Diann Disney of Wilmington.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Frances Disney of Baltimore, MD; son, Timothy Gordon Disney; grandson, Corbin Ricks and fiancé, Myra Barnes.

The family would like to extend a tremendous amount of thanks to Northampton Nursing and Rehab, Lisa Flythe, Courtney Julian, Dr. Frank Taylor, ECU Health Radiation and Oncology, Rae White, Jamie Taylor, Pine Forest Rest Home, Carra Lane and Elizabeth Long at Liberty Hospice.

In line with his wishes, Gordon requested "No grandiose funeral services... no pomp and circumstance when I'm gone."
