Gloria Crowder Murphy, 90 of Jackson, NC passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at her home.

She was born in Northampton County to the late Melvin and Elma Storey Crowder and was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Crowder.

Gloria was a member of Jackson Baptist Church and worked for Northampton County Jail. She loved baby sitting kids and cooking.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Smith; her sons, Tommy Smith and Dickie Smith; her grandchildren, Chuck Hasty and his wife Tonya, Johnathan Hasty and his wife, Mandy, Sarah Rolfe and her husband, Chris, Kim Parker and her husband, Eric, Wyatt and Kasey Smith and Dickie Shawn Smith and his wife, Beth; her eighteen great grandchildren and her one great great grandchild; also surviving are her sisters, Elma Baggett, Sue Drew, Elise Davis and Trudy Hawkins and her husband Jerry.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Askew Funeral Service-Jackson with Rev. Larry Godwin officiating.

Interment will follow in Jackson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until service time at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, 313 E. Jefferson Street, Jackson, NC.
