Obituary

Geraldine Harris Floyd Tripp, 81 of Roanoke Rapids, NC passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021. She was born on January 6, 1940 to the late, Jessie B. Harris and Jewel Harris and was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, that she called "Mama" Louise Floyd, her husband, Wilbert "Pete" V. Floyd; her son, Wilbert "Rocky" V. Floyd, Jr.; her grandson, Dustin Wayne Floyd; and her brothers, Joe Harris and Danny Harris. Geraldine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother who loved the Lord and always walked by faith. She loved gardening, caring for others, music, singing in her church, writing music and she loved writing short children's stories and always kept a journal. Most of all, Geraldine loved her family unconditionally. She is survived by her children, Sheila Ferrell and her husband, Doug of Roanoke Rapids, Angie Gay and her husband, Jamie of Roanoke Rapids and Tony Floyd and his wife, Kim of Gaston; her grandchildren, Brian Ferrell, David Ferrell and his wife, Shareen, Troy Ferrell and his wife, Madison, Kris Harris, Todd Harris and his wife, Jenn, Justin Harris and his wife, Carrie, Daniel Floyd and wife, Robin, Britt-Britt Floyd, Brad Floyd and his wife, Michelle, Ashley Beckett and her husband, Jeff and Adam Floyd and his wife, Amanda; her great-grand-children, Luke and Mason Floyd, Josh and Noah Beckett, Taylor Harris, Dallas Harris, Nadia Ferrell, Somer Ferrell, Jasper "Root" Ferrell, Holden Floyd, Corbin Floyd, Madison Floyd, Brantley Harris, Bailey Harris, Paisley Floyd and Kiki Floyd, Owen Floyd, Robbie Floyd and Lyza Floyd and Jase Floyd; her brother, Carlton Harris and Vickie Belangia; her special family sister-in-law, Jean Harris, Pastor Dennis Joyner and her many friends, especially Betty Deberry and family and her lifelong neighbors along with her fur baby, "Angel." Graveside Services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 12 pm at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Dennis Joyner officiating. Online condolences may be made to www.askewfs.com.
