Gerald Stacy Lynch, 88, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Tuesday May 7, 2024 peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

He was a native of Halifax County and was the son of the late Sam Jones Lynch and Anne Elizabeth Edmonds Lynch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gossett Lynch and their son, Gerald Craig Lynch. Also preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Vincent Lynch.

Gerald was a son, father, grandfather, a great-grandfather, and a family man. He was a devoted man of God and was a dedicated and involved member of Rosemary Baptist Church during his lifetime. He was the long-time owner of Stacy's Jewelers in Roanoke Rapids. He was also the long-time owner and baker at Granny's Donuts. He has fed thousands and rebuilt homes in disaster relief efforts around the country. He and the men at Rosemary Baptist Church updated many homes to be accessible for those with disabilities around the Roanoke Valley. Gerald was a man that held a huge amount of compassion in his heart for everyone he encountered, he will be sorely missed by those that had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his brother, Ancell Lynch and wife, Frances of Knoxville, TN. His sons, Steven Mark Lynch and wife, Lois Mizelle Lynch of Roanoke Rapids. Brian Keith Lynch and wife, Schele of Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Grandsons, Shane Lynch and wife, Nikita. Austin Stacy Lynch and wife, Anna and his great granddaughter, Lotus Lynch and great grandson, Zen Lynch. Step grandchildren, Hillary Joyner, Morgan Joyner, Noah Joyner and wife, Taylor and great step grandchildren, Camden, Damian and Aela Jane.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday May 18, 2024 at Rosemary Baptist Church with Dr. Layne Wallace officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers please direct all donations to the Rosemary Baptist Church in deference to Gerald.
