George Jerome Seuis, 89, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 with his family by his side.

He was the son of the late William Marion and Elizabeth Drewery Seuis. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christy Seuis Plyler, his son, Danny Seuis, great-granddaughter, Addison Hargrave; his sisters, Naomi Seuis, Ruth S. Cole, Alice S. Cook, Annette S. Rock and a brother, Bill Seuis

George was the best husband, father and "PaPa". He was retired from Odom Prison after 36 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved to fish, talk, loved Hershey Kisses, and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Cardelia Mizelle Seuis; his daughters, Amy Seuis James and Jimmie, Mandy Seuis Bailey and Andrea Padron and husband, Jerry; five grandchildren, Brittney Hargrave, husband, Robert, Brook Stevenson, Ellen Elizabeth Wilmouth and husband, Jason, Exia Pair and Julia James; three great-grandchildren, Autumn Hargrave, Abbigail Hargrave and Cameron Jones; his sister, Viola Dunlow, brothers, John Erving Seuis, Doug Seuis and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Randy Martin and Rev. Andy Sloan officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
