George Thomas Duncan, 63, died unexpectedly Thursday, October 28, 2021. Mr. Duncan was born, October 31, 1957, in Fort Lee, Virginia, son to Conwell Duncan and the late Shirley Davis Duncan. He retired from Flowers Bread Company after many years of service. Mr. Duncan was a member of Galatia Baptist Church. He dearly loved his friends, family and dogs. Mr. Duncan also enjoyed gardening and shopping for antiques. Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Davis Duncan, and uncle Thomas Lee Davis. Surviving are his father, Conwell Duncan; his fiancée, Cathy Slate; brothers John Duncan and wife, Laura; Herman Duncan and wife, Deborah; and Joe Duncan and wife, Sherry all of Galatia, NC. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and fur babies, Preston and Ollie. The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral Home in Jackson, NC on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 6:00-7:30pm. Rev. Matthew Dupuy will conduct funeral services at Galatia Baptist Church Sunday, October 31, 2021, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in the Davis-Duncan Family Cemetery which is located beside the church.
