George Joseph Brooks, Jr., 58, devoted and loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2021, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. George was born on August 10, 1963 in Woodbury, NJ but lived most of his life in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Most important to George was his family and friends in both North Carolina and New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his father, George Brooks, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Diana Brooks of Roanoke Rapids, NC; his children Gillian and Evan Brooks of Roanoke Rapids; his brother, Stephen Brooks (Gail) of Raleigh, NC; his nephews Kyle Kapp and Ryder Brooks of Raleigh; and his partner Liz "Beau" Guglielmo of Willow Spring, NC. George had a love for sports especially the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, and Carolina Hurricanes. He always had a big heart for animals and rescued many dogs. George will be missed for many reasons including his humor and wit that always filled a room even though he was a quiet and humble guy. He was a hardworking, dedicated employee of Southern Corrosion for over 25 years. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Askew Funeral & Cremation Services.
