Frank Wayne Askew, 83, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with his family by his side. 

Wayne was born in Northampton County to the late Wilton Waddell Askew and Maxine Davis Askew. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was retired from from International Paper. He was a longtime active member of Victory Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids and was also an old car enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rebecca "Becky" Hunt Askew and their daughter, Lori Askew; his brother, Clifford "Jack" Askew; his brother-in-law, Tim Bristow; niece, Kim Hardison and her husband, Jerry; nephews, Tim Askew and his wife, Nicole, Chuck Joyner and Jason Bristow.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Jeremey Kobernat officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the church.

Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
