Florence Rose Robbins Ancarrow

May 7, 1923 - October 21, 2022

The very full and good earthly life of Florence Rose Robbins Ancarrow, 99, transitioned the evening of October 21, 2022.

Florence was born in Weldon, NC to Mazeppa and Charles Vernon Rose.  She is survived by sons, Joe T. Robbins of Jackson, NC and Wesley N. Robbins (Leesa Deterding) of Raleigh, NC, as well as daughter-in-law, Janet M. Robbins of Garysburg, NC.  She is also survived by her brother, Lewis Rose (Pat) of Mooresville, NC and her sister-in-law, Pasty Rose of Emporia, VA.  Other survivors include grandchildren Marci Martin (Christopher), Jennifer Mayle (Eric), Alycia Mayle, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She now joins James Linwood Robbins, Sr. (first husband), Willie Alfred Ancarrow, Sr. (second husband), James Linwood Robbins, Jr. (son), Lucy Rose Pate (sister), Annie Rose Newsome (sister), Clarence Vernon Rose (brother), Charles Emmett Rose (brother), and Lila Griffith Nelson Morris (sister-in-law).

Florence worked with Allen Oil Company in Roanoke Rapids, NC and retired with nearly three decades of service from Northampton County Farm Bureau of Jackson, NC. She was an active member of Garysburg United Methodist Church.  Florence enjoyed arts and crafts, camping, and travelling. She treasured her family and made it known to all that these were her blessings.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Ancarrow family, the residents and staff of The Bayberry Retirement Inn, and the staff of Community Home Care and Hospice.  Florence loved her caregivers, and the family would like to recognize the exceptional care from Shannon Crawford.

A celebration of life with Michael Alig and Randy Martin officiating, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services located at 731 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.  Interment will follow at Garysburg United Methodist Church located at 303 Old Highway Road, Garysburg, NC 27831.  Visitation with family and friends will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2022, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC.
