Ella Lee Ross, 81, formerly of Roanoke Rapids passed away at Spring Arbor Rocky Mount on September 24, 2024. Ella was preceded in death by her parents, Hallie Graham Ross, Sr. and Louise Moss Ross; her son, Donald Lee Hale, Jr.; her sisters, Nettie Ross Beurkama, Patricia Ross Blacklock and her brother, Hallie Graham Ross, Jr.

She is survived by her sisters, Amanda Glynn Barbour and Lalla Ruth Kaltreider, both of Roanoke Rapids.

Ella was an Archivist in Jackson Library at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for over 30 years. After retirement she performed much volunteer work and worked as an Archivist for the National Park Service in Deer Lodge, Montana, the Redwood National Park in California, and Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Virginia. Ella loved to read, travel and animals, especially her beloved cats.

Interment will be held on Friday, September 27 at 2 PM at Cedarwood Cemetery in Weldon, NC.
