Edward "Leon" Barlow, 75 passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his family. A native of Halifax County, North Carolina. Leon was born on November 21, 1945, the son of Clarence Leon and his wife, Faye Barlow. His mother, Reba Faison Barlowe, all whom preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death is his brother, Alvin Wayne "Bubba" Barlowe and his best friends Buck and Frances Etheridge. Leon graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School. He also attended Calvary Baptist Church. Leon worked as an electrician with J.P. Stevens, Howell Steel and Williams & Lamb Electrical Company. Leon also was Owner/Operator of Barlow Electric until his retirement. Leon enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include his children Edward Barlow and wife Sharon and Melissa Barlow Harrison and husband Chuck; The Mother of their children and Caregiver, Victoria "Jane" Brown; Grandchildren, Nathan Barlow, Justin Barlow (Lauren), Mark Edward Singletary (Hannah),Christopher Nowell and Ashley Bennett (Matthew); Great-Grandchildren, Hayden, Braxton, Landen, Charlie, Matilyn, Tanner, Waylon, Jacob and Bryceson; Bonus daughter, Molly Brown and Dale; grandson Evan Green; Brother & Sister In Law, Albert and Teresa Etheridge; Uncle, Marvin Barlowe; Aunts, Patricia Parrish and Shirley Ham; Nephews, Wayne Barlowe and Albert Etheridge Jr.; Niece, Wendy Sheryl Etheridge. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 27,2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Halifax Fishing Club 380 Fishing Club Road Halifax, NC 27839 with Pastor Russ Collins officiating. Family will receive friends following the service and other times at the home. Please remember to wear your mask and social distance while attending the service.
