Edmond Forrest Jones passed away peacefully at his home on August 26, 2024. He was born on June 9, 1936, in Duplin County, NC to Issac Edmond Jones and Jabez Mobley Jones.

He precedes in death by his sisters, Nisha Mohorn, Hazeline Medlin, Velma Shanklin and brothers, Talmadge Jones, Murdic Jones, Carl Jones, Issac Jones, and Dallas Jones.

He served his country in the US Navy. He was a lifetime member of Community Center Baptist Church in Darlington, NC.

His memory will live in the hearts of those he loved. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ellen Jones; his daughters, Patricia Harris (Wemyss), Mary Ricks (Phil); his stepson, Edward Warren (Judy); four grandsons, Benjamin Leake (Ginger), David Anthony Leake, Carter Ricks, and Christopher Warren; his great-grandchildren, Grace and Kinsley Leake; his sisters, Susie Clizbe, Opal Loflin, Eudene Freuler, Eleaner Hales and numerous other family members, nephews and nieces.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to his caregivers and Liberty Home Health and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids, NC with Rev Jim Whitehead officiating.

Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at 1:00 PM.
